The name Patti Solis Doyle is rapidly becoming familiar in our community. She was featured in the November issue of "Latina Magazine" for her leadership, as the first Latina to ever run a presidential campaign. The article details her story which relates to so many of ours, for her father immigrated to this country three times in order to provide a future for his family. Patti's parents struggled to give their children a good education and it paid off. She attended Northwestern University on a merit scholarship where she studied communications. Like many recent graduates she took opportunities as they came. She was hired 16 years ago as a scheduler for Hillary (during Bill Clinton's first presidential campaign)and is now described as Senator Clinton's "single most important political adviser". Patti's loyalty to Hillary has led her to make history on Capitol Hill.
As a young Latina professional, Patti inspires me to follow my dreams and to work hard even if I have to start from the bottom to get to the top. She also opened my eyes to the importance of behind-the-scenes leaders. Although Patti sometimes makes appearances for the campaign her main responsibility is to manage about 250 people and millions of dollars in funds.
Her role in this presidential campaign is highly important to our community because she knows what issues affect us and can properly relate them to Hillary. The article also points out that Patti keeps a close eye on Hillary's National Hispanic outreach team - the first of it's kind .
The piece ends with Patti advising readers to make ourselves valuable, to get involved, stay focused and be loyal.
